Designed For QualityAll of our superior quality selections of server racks and server cabinets are specially designed to accommodate for deep hot running servers. The specialized design and characteristics of our server rack products allow for the maximum amount of airflow and ventilation through your system, ensuring that cooling efficiency is top notch for all of your stored hardware. This reduces the chance of crashing computer hardware, interrupted data flow, or the loss of important data due to heat-related computer component crisis. Each of our server and computer racks and furniture offer a design that provides access that is much deeper than traditional rackmount computer cabinets for sale at standard retail computer stores. The "U" mounting on our server cabinets and rack units range from 3U all the way up to 44U, and offer overall depths of up to 42", giving you more than enough space for adequate cooling and ventilation. Please note that the traditional definition of "server rack" refers to a rackmount frame that does not have doors or side panels. Likewise, any standard rackmount frame that does include doors and / or side panels is generally referred to as a "server cabinet". For the most part, each of these enclosures includes a square-hole setup within the rackrail system, and does not use threaded rails. This configuration provides users with much better compatibility on a greater range of server and computer component manufacturers. Computer Racks and Computer Cabinet DesignHere on the ISC web site, a computer cabinet is defined as a standard rackmount enclosure or computer furniture unit that does not offer the depth of a standard server rack, and is designed to store computers and computer components that operate at reduced temperatures. Additionally, doors and panels on these rackmount computer cabinets are not physically ventilated, and therefore high end servers should be housed in standard computer cabinets. At the same time, since server racks do not have doors or side panels, this vastly increases heat dissipation capability of these types of furniture units. If you administrate a server farm or data center, server racks are the best way to keep server farms grouped together for ease of administration while maintaining the lowest possible heat dissipation characteristics. See Our Home Page To View Rack Accessories And Support Products Or Click On Left Side Navigation LinksWe have chosen to define server racks (without doors or side panels) and server cabinets (with doors and side panels) as rackmount racking made for deep hot running servers. These type servers normally require rackrails that have square holes for 6mm rack screws / cagenuts rather than 10/32 or 12/24 tapped holes. On the other hand, a computer rack (without doors or side panels) and computer cabinet (with doors and side panels) are most often used for rackmount hardware that is not as deep and does not have the high run temperature. They usually have 10/32 tapped rackrails versus the square hole rackrails. If there is any confusion as to what is the best type of computer cabinet or computer rack to get, please call 800-458-6255 and one of our Account Managers will happy to help. Other words, that many people use when looking for the above type racking, are computer enclosures, rackmount enclosures, data cabinets, network cabinets, network racks, electronic cabinets and rack cabinets. Whatever the case, we will get you the correct rackmount cabinets for your application.
