(The
Powered Relay Racks series has been discontinued.)
Copyright serverrackoptions.com, 1998-2013 The term relay rack has been used for over 20 years and is now morphing into the terms 2 post rack and 2-post rack. A relay rack has historically been made out of aluminum with EIA hole spacing and 12/24 tapped holes. As the hardware has changed over the years, companies began to use a stripped down server rack know as a 4-post rack. These 4-post racks have become very popular and contrasted with a relay rack that only has 2 post. Due to this, people began to refer to it as a 2 post rack. We are using all of the terms in our title to help those who are looking for the specific name, find the correct product on our site. While a relay rack, 2 post rack and 2 post server rack have been traditionally made out of aluminum, Manufactures are now making them out of steel with both 12/24 and 10/32 tapped holes. Contrast this with a 4-post rack that is made with square hole rails. ISC markets 4-post racks in both 10/32 tapped rails and square hole rails. |
