You Do Not Always Need a Surge Protected Powerstrip
While most of us have had the fact that we should always use a surge protected powerstrip, these are generally reserved for sensitive electronics such as your servers and peripherals. But if you are plugging in fans and others simple items like fans, you may find that you can use a non-protected power strips and save a little on your expenses and these items are far less likely to be affected by a power surge.
